Hi I have just been given this link by an American reseacher I did not realise there was so many Rimmer connected sites being new to family tree search and not very computer literate. My late mother was Lilian Rimmer from Southport, her dad was Albert Rimmer married to Doris Bailey from Rotherham and his dad was Thomas Rimmer married to Jane Sourbutt, I think from South Yorkshire also but not too sure my info has come through an Aunty in America, any help to trace them would be gratefully received the only sibling of Albert so far is Anne but I know he had a brother Jack who lived with them in Cemetery Road Southport.

Hi Dave - and welcome
I saw your post on the North Meols forum (I'm Vice-Chairman of that Society and Chairman of The Rimmers) but will try and answer your query on here as it is 'Rimmer' stuff!
The only Rimmer/Sourbutts marriage I have found so far is Thomas Rimmer marrying Ellen Ann Sourbutts, Ormskirk District in September Quarter of 1886 (which is okay for their age - but need to delve a little deeper before I'm convinced). Jane could have been a 'pet' name for Ellen?
I will be in Southport Library on Tuesday and will check the street directories/Register of Electors to see if I can come up with more.
Watch this space?
Take care

I got my family tree info from a member on a well known forum, the great grandparents names matched Thomas Rimmer and Jane Sourbutts, but it must have been wrong I have deleted it all and starting again from the names above, it seems my grandad Albert Rimmer had no sisters and six brothers, so that could,nt have been correct because of Anne Rimmer?
My grandads brothers where in age order I think Fred, Richard, my grandad Albert from Blowick, Jim or James, Thomas, Jack and William who I believe was killed in the first world war. Cheers Dave
