Hi, I just joined. I am glad to see such a large and informative group! We would like to pursue this as a new hobby. I married into the Stephen Harvey Rimmer family. This involves the Gualdin, and Daugherty families and both are traced back to George Washington and Martha Ball Washington. Being married to the Steve carrying on the family name I have been passed the trees from both sides. I am a teacher, we have recently relocated from MO to CA.

Hello - and welcome to the Rimmer Family History Society!
I wonder if you could send some of your information to our Editor for inclusion in the next Rimmer Review and also send me (chairman@rfhs.co.uk) a copy of your family tree? Can you trace your tree back to North Carolina, Virginia and/or Maryland - I am trying to find the first Rimmer to cross the pond and settle and have a Timothy Rimmer travelling from Formby (West Lancashire) to Maryland in 1694 and also a John Rimmer travelling between Liverpool and Virginia in 1690+?
Incidentally - my husband's mother's family are from Warton in Lancashire and St Oswald's church flies the Stars and Stripes on 4th July every year because George Washington's grandfather was a Minister at the Church (just a few years ago)!!

Look forward to chatting some more
Take care
Gladys

Yes I can trace back to James Rimmer Sr. born before 1755 married to Phoebe (Ruffin?). I also have been passed a story that tells of 2 Rimmers coming to America, and then their decendants into Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and the Ohio Valley. The other Rimmer stayed in the motherland.
I also have a story about a Rimmer who was hidden during the time of the "Terror" and then later couldnot reclaim his princely heritage.
I have a copy of "Headrights" linking Alice Rimmer to Col. WM. Waters, Accomack, Co. 12, June 1664.
I have a copy of Emigrants to America from Liverpool dated 16??/1700 mentioning M. John Rimmer Master of the Good Ship P????? bound for Newfoundland March 18, 1699.
