Hello to ALL the Rimmer's worldwide.
It is great to see so many postings from all over the world from people with the surname 'Rimmer'. Coming from a country that is vast in size and sparsely populated you begin to feel quite isolated. Especially with a name as uncommon as Rimmer. I find it refreshing to hear about other Rimmer's out and about this globe and the internet certainly shrinks the expanse and distance down. My roots come from my Grandfather William Rimmer (yes I know, that is quite uncommon for a Rimmer to have an ancestor with the name William or John  ) who came from Chickasaw County, Iowa. One of my goals (or on my bucket list) is to attend the annual Rimmer reunion in Southport, UK. I didn't realize that there was a Rimmer reunion here in Canada either until I joined this forum (although going to Ontario is almost as onerous as flying to Manchester from western Alberta!). I am aware of the reunion held in the Carolina's and also plan to attend that one, one day.
To those Rimmer's who would like to visit Alberta, Canada; I would love to hear from you. Alberta holds a lot of interesting sites, such as Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, Drumheller and many, many more less advertized sites. Fishing, hunting, camping and quadding, and more adventures both rural and urban await (sheesh, I sound like an advertisement for our provincial gov't's 'Travel Alberta'). Love to hear from some of my 'distant' relatives. ciao for now.

Hello, It would be great if you find any relatives here on our site. The site has just been and actually is still undergoing a major revamp. :!:

Our reunion is in October so get doing some lottery and win you UK holiday :D

I have a friend who went to Canada a couple of years ago and she got married on Banff Lake. The pictures were awesome.

Hope you visit our site again and if you have any ideas about what we can put on here please let us know.

Cheers
Lesley x

Actually Lesley, flights to Manchester from Calgary, Alberta have been running around $500 Cdn which isn't too bad at all. Unfortunately, I have too much work this year to attend to. I am aiming for next year (but this IS next year country!!) to attend the Southport Rimmer Family ReUnion. I will hopefully have a lot of conversations on your site with some other Rimmer's. Until then Caio for now!

Hi GTJohne
Welcome to the site - it's good to hear from Rimmers from afar.
Can you give us a bit more information about your William as many of us have Williams in our trees and I'd hate to put him on the wrong branch - heaven knows what we'd finish up with (wonder what a hybrid between an oak and a sycamore would be called)?
Take care
SeaCopRimmer
