Hi Kerry

Welcome to our Forum - unfortunately all the names you mention (John, William, Thomas) are so prolific in this area without more information it would be very difficult to say if anybody is related :? Maybe a bit more information (e.g. the names of the wife and/or a district) might help in unravelling your mystery?

Take care
Gladys

Hi this is Jean a new member. I was born and bred in Runcorn, but now live in Helsby. Im just getting into the family history, so nice to meet you all.,
I dont even know how to get a post onto the site as I cant see any message box to type into, but here goes I clicked somewhere and this reply box came up.
My great grandad was William Rimmer from Halsall he married Elizabeth Ann Acton, Williams Father was Robert Rimmer a Paviour, also from Halsall,
William and Elizabeth had 3 Children, Edith, John, Margaret and Elizabeth Ann. Edith, John and Margaret were sent out to Canada as Home children, classed as waifes and strays, on the imigration ships roughley in 1899 onwards,
I believe William died quite young he certainly died before 1916. Can anyone connect with this Rimmer

Hello Jean - and welcome to our forum. This sounds as if there's a good story somewhere? I don't have a connection with these Rimmers but hopefully someone will come along who will recognise a predecessor.

Take care
Gladys
